Carers Link Lancashire
Here are some of the campaigns, posters and leaflets I developed during my role as Communications Officer. Some of the posters were implemented as part of key campaigns throughout the year such as Carers Week, Carers Rights Day, and Young Carers Awareness Day.

Charm Poster
CHARM is an inter-schools event, celebrating the talents and achievements of young people throughout Hyndburn.
The event was created to give the opportunity for outstanding young people to gain recognition for their talents and achievements.

Young Carers Action Day Campaign
Not all teachers are aware of young carers, or the responsibilities they have on top of schoolwork. Some teachers don’t know that just a small amount of flexibility, such as an extension to a deadline, can make a big difference. Some young carers have chosen to miss school rather than attend without completed homework. This can mean young and young adult carers miss out on even more learning and fall behind – making them feel isolated from their education and their peers.

Young Carers Action Day Campaign
Everyday across the UK, thousands of young people help look after someone in their family or a friend, who is ill, disabled, or has a mental health problem or addiction.
Above our young carers outline what helps them when they feel lonely or isolated.

Young Carers Action Day Campaign
#YoungCarersActionDay 2022 was all about Taking Action on Isolation. It raised awareness and called for action to increase support for young people with caring responsibilities.

One in four adults feel lonely some or all of the time. There’s no single cause and there’s no one solution. After all, we’re all different! But, the longer we feel lonely, the more we are at risk of mental health problems. Some people are also at higher risk of feeling lonely than others, particularly unpaid carers!

Behind Every Condition Campaign
The 2017 report of the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness found that 81% of UK carers felt ‘lonely or socially isolated’ as a result of their caring responsibilities. Carers reported feeling uncomfortable talking to friends or other family members about their caring role, and many carers felt their loneliness and social isolation arose as a result of a lack of money and free time due to caring responsibilities.
